Early Years
Only through freedom and environmental experience is it practically possible for human development to occur.

Essential Skills for a Successful Life
Igniting a Passion for Lifelong Learning
At Discover Montessori Children’s House, our 3-4,5 Early Years program is meticulously designed to cultivate holistic development, embracing the Montessori method and the preparatory principles of the International Baccalaureate (IB) for young learners. We aim to foster creativity, independence, and a lifelong love for learning. This program uniquely combines hands-on, experiential learning with specifically designed Montessori materials within a nurturing environment, allowing children to explore and discover at their own pace.
Nurturing Environment and Program
The children absorb all aspects of their environment in a quest to become part of their culture. The space and program allow the children to discover, learn and be independent. The learning environment is specially prepared with Montessori materials that are designed for the presentation and exploration of practical life, refinement of senses, early mathematics, language, culture, and creativity. The beauty and order of the materials help to remind the child to return them to their place neatly and carefully. The children have the freedom to make choices from a variety of sequentially designed materials, which aids in their development of responsibility and self-mastery. We provide a child-centred and enriching environment where the children gain independence and self-discipline and learn appropriate skills.
Emphasis on Social and Emotional Growth
Our curriculum places a strong emphasis on social and emotional development, helping children cultivate empathy, respect, and collaboration skills. These elements are crucial as they align with both Montessori principles and the IB’s focus on creating responsible, global citizens.
Nature and Outdoor Learning
Discover Montessori Children’s House values the significant role of nature in child development. We integrate regular outdoor play and exploration to enhance emotional well-being, creativity, and cognitive abilities, understanding that immersion in nature is not just beneficial but essential for young learners.
Encouraging Independence and Curiosity
The core of our day, the work period, is rooted in Montessori pedagogy with uninterrupted cycles where children receive personalised guidance and engage in self-directed activities. This approach fosters independence and collaborative learning, with children partaking in everything from using Montessori materials to observing peers and managing self-served snacks.
Nurturing Well-being and Special Activities
Tailored to meet individual needs, our program offers dedicated nap times for younger children in a soothing environment. The afternoon specials provide diverse experiences in fine arts, music, and physical activities, designed to cultivate a well-rounded personality and prepare them for the next stages of their educational journey.
