We are delighted to share the excellent results achieved by our Grade 4 students on the National External Assessment (NEA) in Bulgarian Language and Literature (BLL) and Mathematics. These results reflect the requirements of the national educational standards and demonstrate solid academic knowledge and skills developed in relation to the national curricula in BLL and Mathematics.

Key Achievements:
- More than half of the students demonstrated excellent performance in BLL.
- Nearly three-quarters of the class achieved excellent marks in Mathematics.
- 60% of the students showed excellent results in both subjects.
- All students who have been part of Discover International School since Preschool and Grade 1 showed outstanding results on the assessments, confirming the long-term positive impact of our educational programme on their academic and personal development over the years.
- The active participation of our international students, who make up around 20% of the class, contributes daily to the diversity and strong global awareness within our school culture.
Important Perspective on NEA Results:
The National External Assessment measures knowledge and skills related only to the national curriculum requirements for specific subjects. It does not reflect the full development of critical and creative thinking, research skills, communication, social skills, and self-management, which are central to the philosophy of the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the Primary Years Programme (PYP).
Our students consistently develop:
- skills for inquiry and information analysis;
- the ability to apply knowledge in new and real-life contexts;
- personal responsibility, independence, and collaboration with others;
- values and qualities outlined in the IB Learner Profile – curiosity, reflection, empathy, responsibility, courage, and integrity.
The NEA results provide only a partial picture of their progress and do not fully showcase their growing conceptual understanding, interdisciplinary connections, and personal engagement with learning – essential elements in the IB PYP approach.
In Summary:
- Students demonstrate strong academic knowledge according to national standards.
- A significant part of the class achieved excellent results.
- The development of key skills and attitudes remains a primary focus in our educational programme, beyond the limits of standardised assessments.
We warmly congratulate our students, teachers, and parents for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to holistic learning, which prepares our children for the challenges of an ever-changing and interconnected world.
We are proud of their overall growth – as knowledgeable, thoughtful, and active young individuals!
